Some 15,000 years ago, at the end of the last ice age, the unique moor funnel - the only one of its kind in the world - first emerged in the moorland at Bad Senkelteich. People have been coming to this natural phenomenon for thousands of years, to bask in the positive energy it exudes.
 It was the natural healing properties of the moor that led to the foundation of the spa at Senkelteich in 1866.
